Town Of Vernassa

The Cinque Terre (Five Lands) is a special section of five inlets and villages between terraced cliffs on the southern edge of the Ligurian Riviera of northwestern Italy. This is the town of Vernassa with the fourteenth-century church of St Margaret of Antioch. Terraced vineyards extend in the background on the upper left behind the vineyards, and outside the church are foundations of rock and stone down into the sea, a unique feature found elsewhere only in Venice.
